Shared e-scooters are fast, but lack all initiative without a human around. Autonomous delivery robots can navigate the city, but are slow and cautious. Let’s combine their strengths into one device: e-scooter that roams the streets at its own pace and comes to you on demand, so you can take control and burn some rubber!Continue reading “Roveride”

ReadPass
ReadPass is a budget e-reader optimised for public transport use. There’s a transport pass integrated in the case or in the device itself. The device offers relevant features and gamified content to alleviate boredom during commutes, and provides travel information at a glance. Can include solar charging, emphasise green habits and promote public transport use.Continue reading “ReadPass”
Flowernet
Flowernet is a proposal to grow native Australian flowers on underused land, such as roadside verges or industrial lots, by partnering with landowners. The harvested flowers will fund conservation work, while volunteers can help plant and maintain the sites. It’s a community-powered, eco-friendly flower farm network that protects biodiversity and brings beauty to forgotten spaces.Continue reading “Flowernet”
Cri-kranoplan
Colomban Cri-Cri is an iconic plane, and has been the object of many modifications, including installation of jet engines or electric motors. I propose building a light ground-effect vehicle based on the Cri-Cri. Many of the original parts can be reused in order to create an ultimate retrofuturistic thrill machine with an instantly recognisable appearance.Continue reading “Cri-kranoplan”
Ultralight hybrid-powered ekranoplan
Ekranoplans have fascinated enthusiasts for decades, with numerous hobby builds of RC models and piloted craft. I propose an ultralight recreational ground-effect vehicle that blends existing designs and uses off-the-shelf components. It would have Lippisch-style aerofoil and be powered by a hybrid system with petrol paramotor for cruising and electric motors for takeoff and steering.Continue reading “Ultralight hybrid-powered ekranoplan”
Bulk search tool for academic references
If you’ve ever read an academic article and wanted to follow the trail of sources it cites, you know the pain of searching one line at a time. Proposed tool lets you copy (or extract automatically from a document) a block of references, tick the ones you want, and instantly bulk-search them on Google Scholar.Continue reading “Bulk search tool for academic references”
Flat-Flat-Convex mirror setup for cars
Modern cars typically come with convex door mirrors that provide a wider field of view at the expense of a distorted image. What if there was a way to have a true image AND a wide field of view? This post points to a simple but brilliant solution that has gone unnoticed by the industry.Continue reading “Flat-Flat-Convex mirror setup for cars”
Automatic video compression plugin for Moodle
Since the pandemic, video submissions have become a core part of remote learning – whether for presentations, role-plays, or assignments. But there’s a catch: many of these videos, especially when recorded on smartphones, are uploaded in formats that are extremely large and poorly compressed, sometimes reaching 1GB for just a few minutes of content. WhenContinue reading “Automatic video compression plugin for Moodle”

This is a brief guide for posting ideas on Inspiradrome. Using the Submit form, please provide a brief overview of your idea. Make sure it’s concise yet informative. You can mention things like: Remember – a well-described idea underpinned by reasonable assumptions is more likely to be implemented. Keep it constructive! Video game based on the Particle Life mathematical simulation
Particle Life is a fascinating computer simulation that uses a set of simple mathematical rules to create moving life-like patterns. The concept has been evolving over the years, with some of the major milestones being Jeffrey Ventrella’s “Clusters” (https://www.ventrella.com/Clusters/) and Sandbox Science’s “Particle Life” (https://sandbox-science.com/particle-life). I propose making a computer game based on this concept.Continue reading “Video game based on the Particle Life mathematical simulation”
Inspiradrome ideas engine (early prototype)
Inspiradrome doesn’t yet have a fully functional database where users can post their ideas. As an early prototype (and part of the MVP), we can simulate this database using a simple blog with comments. How will it work? What are the advantages/disadvantages of this format?
