This is an initiative from the Founder Defence Force and the Unsolicitor, to help reduce the incidence and impact of ghosting that founders experience when trying to communicate their (usually unsolicited) ideas to potential partners.
Paradoxically, it is the ghosts who miss out on the great opportunities and let their companies down by not escalating these to the decision-makers, yet it is the people who generate the opportunities that feel bad. Ghosts themselves usually never learn about any of this, and how they made the sender feel. It’s not that they are malicious – they are simply underinformed on this issue. All we need to do is create a place for this information to be seen. Hence the Ghost Stories!
[Hall of Fame & Ghost Database coming soon]
How to participate
Step 1: validate the idea
Send your idea to us Inspiradrome, so we can estimate exactly how much the recipient would be missing out if they ghosted you. Email your idea to validator☺inspiradrome.com
Step 2: reach out
Send your message to the person or company (if you reach out by email, you can CC the validator, too).
Step 3: crunch time! A ghost or a person?
After waiting for a reasonable amount of time, come back to Inspiradrome with your findings. You can send your ghost story (or a recount of a warm conversation with a person) to ghoststories☺inspiradrome.com
- If you got a reply, we will put the story in the Hall of Fame.
- If you’ve been ghosted, we’ll put the story in the Ghost Database.
Later, when your idea takes off, it will be fun to revisit these ghosts, to see how much others have missed out by not replying to you. It will help other founders feel better about themselves, too!
Good luck!
